And we did.
We hiked Lone Tree Trail and upon reaching the summit no tree was to be found so we sat, chatted, and refueled on dried mangoes (which Mike secretly hated and now loves along with avocados, spicy food, and cats).
Fast forward five months and Mike proposed in Kauai after Jess ever so gracefully tripped on a lava rock and cut her foot open, almost thwarting Mike’s well laid out sunset proposal walk. Spoiler alert, she said yes!

In case you didn’t know:
Mike was born in Poland and immigrated to Toronto, Canada when he was four, then moved to CA in 2011.
Jess, hailing from the mean streets of Southern Shores, NC, flew the coop at 18 and worked her way across the country finally settling on CA in 2014.
They met at work, but took 5 years for either of them to realize the crush and Jess was the first to make a move.
